Noisy Can Kids
The Noisy Can Kids Ministry was started several years ago to raise money for the ELCA malaria campaign followed by pet food for the Arlington Food Bank, and then for Summit Assistance Dogs. Two Sundays a month during worship, the children collect coins in noisy cans. In the fall of 2016 the OSYM children decided to raise money for the Brown Bag lunch program. This program provides fresh sack lunches once a week to those standing in line at the food bank. The average cost per meal is $2.00. During the 2017-2018 campaign the children collected enough money to provide over 600 meals. During our week of day camp in July we held another noisy can contest that nearly doubled our donation amount. We are providing almost 50% of the cost of meals for the organization.
